Bhutan Institute was first established in 2012 under the name National Language and Rigzung Institute in Paro until August 2015. Later, due to varied courses offered at the institute, the management decided to rename the institute as Bhutan Institute of Information Technology and Management. The institute has opened another campus in the capital city, Thimphu under the name “Bhutan Institute of International Language, IT and Management”, in 2016.
